Growing up in Southeast Michigan in a Polish-American family, large gatherings and events were an essential part of our upbringing. We quickly learned to appreciate the art of entertaining and decided to turn our passion for event planning into a partnership that has now become Take A Seat Events! Since 2011 when Take A Seat was founded, we’ve been blessed with the opportunity to do what we LOVE everyday. Together we have over 7 years of experience planning a wide range of events both locally and internationally. We are versatile in our planning and design concepts, and we’re always up for a challenge!

After graduating from Central Michigan University, Agata began her career across the pond planning events for a financial publishing company in London. Her strong work ethic and unwavering eye for detail quickly earned her an event manager position in New York City, where she went on to complete her education in Event Management from New York University. After 3 years of managing corporate conferences and special events in The Big Apple she found her way back to her Midwest roots in Southeast Michigan. Desiring to make an impact, she joined the University of Michigan’s events team, planning development fundraisers, presidential dinners and university ceremonies. In 2013, after planning her own wedding, she decided to put her skills and experience to the test and established Take A Seat Events. A natural planner at heart, she is the glue that holds Take A Seat Events together and keeps our events running flawlessly. Most days you can catch her styling photos for Instagram, dreaming up flower recipes, adding to her never ending to-do list, planning date nights with her husband; Chris, or snuggling with her little boy; Camden and baby girl; Vivienne.

With degrees in Event Management, Interpersonal Communications and Media & Production from Central Michigan University, Justyna packs a powerful creative punch with her wide range of skills and talents. Shortly after graduating college, she relocated to London, England where she began working on the creative side of marketing by managing integrated marketing campaigns on an international level. After three years abroad, she moved home to Michigan and accepted a position as a Creative Project Manager with an in-house agency in Detroit, where she oversees video production and manages digital media projects. In 2013, she decided to pursue her passion for event planning by joining forces with her sister; Agata. As an event planner, Justyna loves to capture the essence of a couple’s story and incorporate those details into the event design and decor elements. However, most people would tell you that her greatest strength is her amazing ability to build lasting relationships with friends, family and clients. She can be found frequenting boutique wine shops, adding to her extensive hat collection, singing Salt’n’Pepa at her favorite karaoke spot, or spending time with her husband; Jason.

Chelsey graduated from Michigan State University in 2012 with her Bachelor’s in Social Work. With a desire to serve others and a love for family gatherings and celebrations, event planning quickly became a passion of hers. Shortly after graduating, Chelsey moved to Metro-Detroit to work as an Executive Assistant on an in-house creative team, which where she met Justyna and Agata. She soon joined Take A Seat Events and fell more in love with event planning as she learned the ins and outs of the industry. Her attention to detail and passion for planning is apparent in each of her roles. In her free time, she’s typically dreaming up future trips, watching “Friends” again and again, or spending time with her family and friends.

After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Theatre Design & Production, Meg found her love of events through an internship specializing in fundraising events at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. She decided to join her love for events and the theater by moving to New York City and working for an Off Broadway theater planning fundraising events and interning for one of New York’s top wedding planners. After a couple of years of planning fundraisers and learning the ins and outs of wedding coordination, she decided to move back to her hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan, to plan events for her alma mater. While working for the University, Meg met Agata and Justyna of Take a Seat Events and couldn’t resist the opportunity to join their team and plan gorgeous love-filled events for their wonderful clients. Meg also spends her time running her calligraphy business, M.B. Calligraphy; playing with her puppy, Stella; traveling with her husband, Karl; and cheering on her favorite football team, the Michigan Wolverines!
